UAP Whistleblower David Grusch was probably given false information - or worse, he was lying to Congress.
Back in 2023, David Grusch, head of the Department of Defense's Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), shocked Congress and the rest of the world with claims of Alien and UAP documentation.

“Intelligence Officials Say U.S. Has Retrieved Craft of Non-Human Origin,” reported Leslie Kean and Ralph Blumenthal in June 2023. The out-of-this-world report differed significantly from the previous conspiracies shared. It was supposedly backed by current and ex-U.S. government officials in the Department of Defense.
Leslie and Ralph’s infamous report in the Debrief was collaborated with David Grusch, a retired intel analyst who had sent a whistleblower complaint to the U.S. Congress, known as a PP-19 Urgent Concern filing, which he filed with the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) in 2022.
According to David’s testimony and the Debrief report, the United States Congress had been lied to for years by Government Officials. Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) reports were being concealed from members of Congress by these officials on purpose — concealing various programs they were working on.
Grusch had made extraordinary claims from retrieved naked alien bodies to crashed-out vehicles in his article with the Debrief, which was written during a year of sensational UAP/UFO content spread across the internet. It began in February 2023 after U.S. F-22 Fighter Jets destroyed a Chinese spy balloon over the coast of South Carolina and shot down one of many UAPs over the skies of Western Canada a few days apart from each other.

The UAP/UFO trend became viral again a few months later when Grusch was given a hearing with U.S. House of Representatives members in the Committee On Oversight and Accountability. Upon being summoned by Congress to share his knowledge on the secret programs and their attempts to thwart Congressional oversight, Mr. Grusch told Congress in his opening statement that his evidence comes from anonymous government officials who showed him “compelling evidence in the form of photography, official documentation, and classified oral testimony.” Grusch came with a record of government experience that placed him as the most compelling individual to make such claims on UAPs and their related programs - the disclosure by a senior official was unprecedented if true. This appeared to be unlike previous UAP/UFO claims promoted by popular individuals such as Bob Lazar.

Grusch’s credibility brought him this far. He served in the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) of the United States Air Force and was an active member of the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) Task Force for 2 years. He was a part of the NRO’s director briefing staff, which supposedly put him in a position to assist in the United States President’s daily briefings and contingency operations - which he differs from in his NewsNation interview, saying he was usually called upon by top DoD officials for advice on the “hardest target sets.”
While serving in his role, Grusch says he, as well as the whole UAP Task Force, were surprisingly informed of a “multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse engineering program.” David and his team were denied access to the program, spurring his mission to unravel its secrets and ultimately present it all before Congress.
At the Congressional hearing, Grusch sat alongside two other prominent UAP/UFO whistleblowers in the U.S. military: Former Navy Commanding Officer David Fravor and Former F-18 pilot Ryan Graves, whose stories altogether had sparked the loudest conversation on aliens, flying saucers, and government secrets since Bob Lazar’s interview with Joe Rogan back in 2019.
Unlike Grusch, both Fravor and Graves had encountered UAPs while flying training missions. Grusch’s testimony inevitably became the spotlight of the Congressional hearing to both the Congress members and the general public, as the evidence he claimed to have found not only gave the possible context to what Fravor and Graves had witnessed, but it offered a glimpse into the United States’ interaction with the extraterrestrial, if true.
In his opening statement on the hearing, Congressman Mr. Buchet said, “Were not bringing little green men or flying saucers into the hearing…were just going to get to the facts.” As it turned out, the “facts” presented had everything to do with little green men and flying saucers.

On the topic of non-human vehicles, Congressman Mr. Garcia asked Grusch if he believed the U.S. government was in possession of them, to which he responded: “Absolutely.” Adding that he knew “the exact locations and those locations were provided to the Inspector General and some of which to the Intelligence communities.”
Congressman Mr. Mokowitz asked Grusch a similar question regarding his knowledge on “non-human origin craft.” Grusch told him that he had interviewed government officials with direct knowledge on the subject. The congressmen pushed the questioning further than others, asking Grusch if the satellite imagery he received from his interviews and research included “crash sites” and “crash imagery.” Grusch said he could not disclose his answer in the hearing (so obviously yes).
A third congressman, Mr. Burlison, asked Grusch if any of the UAPs had ever been viewed as hostile in the reports. He replied that they have, and that colleagues had been “physically injured,” without elaborating further. Asked if he had personally been an eyewitness to the non-human vehicles, he replied, “I have to be careful…uh…describing what I have seen first hand or not in this environment, but I could answer that question behind closed doors.” Which sounds like he has. When further pushed with questions, Grusch was asked if he was a witness to “alien bodies or alien species,” he responded that he had not witnessed any. Mr. Burlison then directed the conversation towards non-human vehicles and their possible origins with the U.S. government:
“these aircrafts…have they been identified that they are being produced by domestic, you know, military contractors? Is there any evidence that that is what is being recovered?”
“Not to my knowledge. Plus, the recoveries predate a lot of our advanced programs that I previously am waiving off.”
Grusch never shared the specifics of the recoveries or any additional details of the advanced programs during the Congressional hearing. Fortunately, he does provide more context in an unedited interview with NewsNation’s Ross Coulthart. On the evidence of older recoveries of non-human vehicles, Grusch told Coulthart that the U.S. Government has deployed a “sophisticated disinformation campaign targeting the U.S. populace” to hide their findings - for over 90 years.
According to Grusch, the very first cover-up was in Magenta, Italy, during the reign of Benito Mussolini. “They recovered a partially intact vehicle,” he tells Colthart, adding that the Italian government had “moved it to a secure air base in Italy…Pope Pius XII backchanneled that…he told the Americans what the Italians had, and we ended up scooping it.” These claims are only backed by a few documents that were shared to DailyMail.UK by Italian researcher and president of the National Ufological Center, Robert Pinotti. He told DailyMail reporters Josh Boswell and Christ Sharp he and another colleague “received some original secret documents about the case.” And of course, by anonymous sources.
Here is one of the documents Pinotti received… are you laughing yet?
An Italian and Catholic Church cover-up with zero evidence or credibility from any historians? Really? That’s your first public source to back all of this? His second source was of an older recovery program that came from Roswell, New Mexico. In the interview with Colthart, Grusch was later asked about the supposed UFO cover-up there, offering him the space to provide the proper context and sources to make his claims more plausible.
He replied that the Roswell story “could not be approved to talk about right now.” If you haven’t been following… that is an esoteric phrase I interpret as “my source is full of shit.” Yes, the U.S. government was covering up something in Roswell, New Mexico… but historians and journalists have proved that it was simply weather balloons launched by the U.S. Air Force during a Cold War operation known as Project Mogul. Grusch’s point that the Roswell incident is somehow still classified and cannot be disclosed in the interview makes zero sense, given that the National Archives has released multiple documents confirming its existence and tapes of footage showcasing Project Mogul in action! Unfortunately for Grusch, his evidence only gets more muddy. In his interview with Colthart, he says he received reports - that he could never share publicly - discussing isotopic ratios and their usage in the engineering of the crafts that had been recovered by the secret programs. They cited “strange range of atomic metals, high in the periodic table.” Woah.. that’s like… exactly how Bob Lazar, who claims to have been a scientist working on flying saucers in Area 51, hints at the explanation regarding the engineering of flying saucers’ propulsion system in his interview with Joe Rogan.
During his interview back in 2019, Lazar told Rogan that the spacecraft he had witnessed was using Moscovium (Element 115), a high element in the periodic table, to power the vehicle. He further explained in a different interview with Larry King that it was radioactivity - in contact with the element - that allowed 115 to be so unstable to a point where it could lift the vehicle. There is one big issue with this science. Scientists have gotten to play around with Element 115 and figured out some of its properties. It does not match the description Lazar gives, nor the source of controlled power Grusch implies the secret reports showed. The element only exists for a short period and is incredibly unstable, making the science of the non-human craft impossible with our current understanding of physics.
It’s possible that the reports Grusch and his team found were outdated or carried false information. But given his sheer confidence in them, being filled with unproven science and no documented evidence to back his claims, Grusch appears to be caught up in swaths of fake information he is afraid to share at best, or worst.. he is lying.
Every time a Congressman or woman pushed Grusch to provide documentation of the aliens, non-human vehicles, secret government programs, and their corruption against Congress, he gave them the same boring answer: The documentation can only be shared in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). Grusch could not share any of his information in a SCIF anyway, as his clearance was not active at the time of the hearing - a fact he never shared during the hearing, mind you.
And as of today, none of the Congress officials from the committee has shared any new evidence on Grusch’s claims. The way I see it… Grusch’s claims will be bogus forever unless actual evidence is released. It will just be another chunk of alien lore added to the already crappy pile of evidence regarding a supposed “U.S. cover-up of aliens.”
Maybe the evidence will come sooner than I expect, though. Mr. Burlison hired David Grusch to be a special advisor back in April 2025, with hopes of getting more answers on UAP questions.
But regardless, it’s always fun to read and write about Aliens, UFOs, and government secrets surrounding them…because nobody can prove it.
Love the reporting! You made me laugh 😂. I appreciate your thorough investigation.
